27/04/2024 Improved Room Allocation for Dorms

Scroll Prev Top Next More

We have extended the current gender codes to reflect room occupation on different days. All days of a selected period are now compared to each other. If one day is female dorm and the next day is male dorm, a new code ‘conflict’ is introduced (code 7). Such a room cannot be used unless violating the gender policy. If one day is mixed and the next day is female dorm, then a new code ‘only female allowed mixed’ (code 9) is used. Same for male dorm with a new code ‘only male allowed mixed’ (code 8). The column ‘Sex’ on tab Rooms shows the new codes. Existing auto room allocation templates never use such rooms for dorm allocation after this update, the main purpose of this improvement. If you want to allocate two of the cases ‘only female allowed mixed’ and ‘only male allowed mixed’, you need to edit your existing templates for mixed dorms and add a new line in the top area of Room Preferences: *x for females and *y for males (optionally followed by a room type code).
